09 Mar All it Takes is ONE
With great respect and great love, welcome.
This is the beginning of a dream come true.
Today is International Women’s Day – a perfect day to launch the One Woman Effect community and event series. My intention is to be a spark that gets passed like wildfire from one woman to another to every man, woman and child and light up this world like never before. I have been coaching women internationally for the last 6 years and have witnessed over and over again the massive ripple effect that one woman can have on her world when she owns her worth and what she has to offer in this life. That may sound like I help women find their purpose or their career. Not really.
I deal with something much deeper than that. We can DO anything. We’ve proven that a million times. I’m much more concerned with helping women decide who they want to BE. When we get clear about that, something indescribable happens. The inner condition of a woman lines up with her life, she starts to live in alignment with her identity. Her energy comes flooding back, she can tap it whenever she chooses and it ripples like water into the lives of everyone she adores and then some. You can spot a woman like this from far away. You can literally feel her. She elevates everyone around her. Think back to a time when you had an experience with a woman like this. How did she make you feel?
Can you imagine what your world would be like if you had a Grandmother, a Mother, a Lover, a Wife who was literally lit from within, peaceful, sure, rooted and overflowing with love and energy for you?
That’s what I care about.
That’s the power of One Woman. One woman, totally in alignment with herself and what she has to give, will have an immeasurable effect on countless beings over the course of her lifetime.
I have been striving to become that woman since I was about 4 years old. Remember those School Days scrapbooks you had to fill out every year? The ones that had you write what you wanted to be when you grow up? I didn’t write Cheerleader or Movie Star like my friends, I said I wanted to become a “calm face”. When my Mom asked me what I meant by that I said, “You know, one of those people you see walking down the street with the little smile? Like they know everything.” That’s been my desire since I can remember and it’s only grown stronger. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge about life – why we’re here and how to make the most of it. I was thoroughly annoyed with my parents and teachers for YEARS for not being able to answer my big, fat questions and have spent the better part of my life on a quest to be that “Calm Face”. I have asked 43 years worth of questions. Studied with theologists, philosophers and scholars. Lived in an ashram and traveled the world. Worked for and with some of the leaders in personal transformation. If you are looking for answers in life, chances are you can come to my office and find a book, DVD or CD on the topic.
And then one day it hit me. WHEN do I get to be her? When do I get to celebrate being “Calm Face”? I had the terrifying thought, “I’m wasting my life, searching!” And then everything I had ever learned stopped me in my tracks. I already am HER! I always have been. Even that little 4 year old me. WE ALL ARE! At our core, we know everything and have everything. Whatever we do with it is just our crazy free will. As I always say, you already hit the jackpot by being born. You could sit around and eat bon bons everyday and that would be just fine. Or you could move to Italy and harvest olives. You could try to change the world. But you don’t have to, cause contrary to popular opinion, the world is just fine. It’s growing and changing exactly as it should. We are ridiculously free and unbelievably powerful.
So here’s the deal. While I do believe that all is well in the world, I think it would be silly for me to just chill. I want to fully engage on this wild ride and do what I can to play with it. So why not spread some magic. Why not light the thing up? Why not remind people who may have forgotten or wake people up who have no idea, that they’re breathtakingly beautiful inside and that they can have a MUCH better time while they’re here?
That’s my choice. And as they say, we teach what we most need to learn. I am a student first and foremost. And selfishly, while I live to uplift others, I think I’d have a much better time surrounded by a bunch of other “Calm Faces”.
So let’s cause a ripple. M’kay?
Let the sparks fly.
